What is an Activation?

We flow in and out of different states of consciousness throughout our day, throughout our life.

The term Activation is used by Jon to describe the empowered acceptance of, and participation in, a heightened state of consciousness. Such a state of consciousness can be activated by breathwork, energy work, meditation, or simply by something happening in our everyday life.

For Jon the term unites a common theme that runs through many practices, such as Holotropic Breathwork, Conscious Connected Breathwork, Osho's Dynamic Meditation, Pi Villaraza's Kundalini Activation, Native American vision quests, plant medicine ceremonies, Somatic Therapy and Yogic meditation.
An Activation is a moment in space and time, an opportunity, usually created between a participant and a facilitator, to enter a deeper level of consciousness
This shift in consciousness is usually activated using a combination of breathwork and energy work, or can happen spontaneously
Music, ranging from calm to high energy, is often used to support the experience, but Activations with no music can also be powerful in a different way
Activations usually begin with participants lying down with closed eyes and can remain meditative or become physically active
Activations are initially guided, but once established they are left largely open, with the facilitator always available to support participants as needed
Whatever takes place during an Activation is welcomed and treated with complete confidentiality

What is Breathwork?

Breath is an active part of that system and changes in our consciousness affect the way we breathe
This system also acts in reverse - changes in our breathing affect our consciousness
And so breathwork in its broadest sense is an active engagement with our breathing, to affect our consciousness
The approach to breathwork used in an Activation* doesn't prescribe a specific breathing technique
Instead focussing on finding your own personal breathing pattern and creating your own perfectly tuned altered state of consciousness**
These personally generated shifts in consciousness create a unique personal journey of discovery, healing and growth
* The Endeepenment approach to breathwork is based on Conscious Connected Breathwork and Holotropic Breathwork
** Breathing patterns will be offered to new participants
It is our whole body, not just our brain, that forms our consciousness
